Aerospace Forces Orienteering Championship

The Air and Space Forces Orienteering Championship has come to an end in the Tambov Region. The competition was attended by teams from various formations and associations of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, as well as cadets from seven higher military educational institutions. They competed in individual and team races, which will determine the winners of the tournament.

At the opening ceremony, the participants were greeted by representatives of the General Command of the Russian Aerospace Forces. Colonel Alexander Zhidkov, Deputy head of the Physical Training Department of the Main Command of the Russian Aerospace Forces, noted that orienteering is of great importance in training military personnel, developing survival skills in extreme conditions, which can save lives in combat conditions.

In total, 22 teams competed in four subgroups: among universities, air armies and air defense armies, centers of direct subordination and training centers. The championship was held on Tambov land for the second time, and it is especially pleasant that the AMAKS Park Hotel was chosen as the venue for accommodation and official events.

The organizers note that optimal conditions have been created in the region: a suitable landscape, including forests, and the necessary infrastructure.
