Two formats of gratitude: How the AMAKS Zolotoe Koltso Hotel congratulated veterans on May 9th and presented gifts to the centenary hero!

On the eve of Victory Day, the staff of the AMAKS Zolotoe Koltso Hotel in Vladimir decided that the main words of appreciation should be heard not only at solemn rallies, but also at an ordinary human table — in warmth, care and sincere communication. This year, the hotel staff combined two important activities: they invited veterans of the Great Patriotic War to a festive tea party and personally went to congratulate the one whose anniversary has become a true story of courage.

Part one: a heartfelt meeting at the common table!

The living room of the AMAKS Zolotoe Koltso hotel turned into a real "frontline camp" for several hours with a bright sadness and great joy from the meeting. Colleagues set a festive table for the veterans — with fragrant tea, homemade cakes and sweets. The hotel staff thanked each guest from the bottom of their hearts, listened to their quiet stories about their experiences, gave flowers and memorable gifts.

This meeting became a symbol of the connection of generations: the young staff of the hotel saw with their own eyes those who did not spare themselves for the sake of a peaceful future. Veterans, in turn, admitted that such attention warms up more than any May sun.

Part two: To visit the centenarian hero!

The trip to the Great Patriotic War veteran was special and thrilling. To Igor Semyonovich Makhtin. He turned exactly 100 years old this year! The hotel staff could not pass by such a date — and went to the hero of the day with a bouquet of flowers, a gift from the hotel and the warmest words.

But the main gift for the guests themselves was the opportunity to touch the amazing biography of a man who seemed to contain an entire epoch.

When the war began, Igor Semenovich was still very young, but he volunteered to dig trenches for the defense of Moscow. Together with fellow patriots, he went on night patrols to defuse incendiary bombs that the Nazis dropped on the city. It was a dangerous but necessary task — every house saved brought Victory closer.

In the summer of 1943, conscription followed. The young fighter got to the very front line — to the active army of the 4th Ukrainian Front. And in April 1944, his unit took part in fierce battles for the liberation of Sevastopol. It was especially hard on the legendaryBreather is a mountain, a place where every meter of the earth was soaked in blood. It was there that Igor Semenovich showed exceptional courage and heroism, for which he received his first combat medal.

After the end of the Great Patriotic War, he did not take off his shoulder straps. The army became his vocation: Igor Semenovich graduated from the Kharkov Guards Tank School, after which he served in the Leningrad Military District. For many years of impeccable service and military merit, he has been awarded many awards, among which he is particularly honored.Order of the Patriotic War II degree.

The staff of the AMAKS Zolotoe Koltso Hotel returned from Igor Semenovich's with a deep impression. It's worth a lot to look into the eyes of a man who volunteered to dig trenches near Moscow, stormed Sapun Mountain and lived to be a hundred years old, retaining a clear mind and a firm character.

We are grateful to all veterans and home front workers for the opportunity to live under a peaceful sky. For us, May 9th is not just a date, but a living story in person. And as long as we remember and say "thank you", the feat is not a thing of the past.

Happy Victory Day! We remember. We are proud. Thank you.
