On July 15, a large-scale armored rally "The Road of Courage" will pass through the Vladimir region. A convoy of 12 rare samples of military equipment and modern armored vehicles will follow the route Moscow – Vladimir – Murom – Vyksa – Arzamas – Nizhny Novgorod – Moscow. The total length of the route will be 1,120 kilometers.
The event is organized by the Interregional public organization "Military Technical Society". This year's armored rally is dedicated to the feat of home front workers during the Great Patriotic War — those who worked around the clock at factory machines, bringing Victory closer, as well as those who today, in a special military operation, continue this work, providing the army with modern weapons.
The convoy includes the legendary ZIS—5, the famous Katyusha based on the GAZ-AA and GAZ-67B semi trucks, the BTR-40 armored personnel carrier, and the BRDM-1 and BRDM-2 reconnaissance vehicles. For the first time, modern vehicles of the military-industrial complex are participating in the race: armored vehicles of the Spartak, Athlete, Sturm and Combat B families.
At 10:00 a.m., a solemn rally will be held on Victory Square in Vladimir with the laying of wreaths and flowers at the Eternal Flame. After the ceremony, residents of the city will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the restored military equipment, take photos, chat with the crews and learn more about the history of rare vehicles. Quizzes dedicated to Vladimir's contribution to the country's defense during the war years will be held for experts in local history. The most erudite participants will receive memorable prizes — detailed scale models of military equipment.
The participants of the armored rally stayed at the AMAKS Zolotoe Koltso Hotel, and the cars are located in the parking lot near the hotel.
