The Tambov Region is introducing a digital ID for checking into hotels via the MAX messenger.
The Tambov region's hotel sector is switching to modern standards of service. About ten hotels and sanatoriums in the region have begun testing a new technology that will allow tourists to register on arrival using a digital identity card directly in the MAX messenger.
How does it work?
The process of settling in becomes faster and easier.:
1. The guest opens the "Digital ID" tab in the MAX application.
2. Selects the "Passport" section and clicks the "Present" button.
3. Shows the generated QR code to the hotel employee.
4. Confirms the identity by clicking the "Confirm" button.
The hotel employee, in turn, scans the code using the Goscan service on the Gosuslugi portal.
What do I need to use the service?
To successfully complete registration, you will need one of three options for a confirmed profile photo.:
- registered biometrics;
- valid foreign passport;
- driver's license.
Implementation context
The transition of the hotel business to a new format of work is the fulfillment of the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation. Starting from September 1, 2026, all accommodation facilities with more than 50 rooms will be required to provide guests with the opportunity to verify their identity through the national messenger.
Who has already signed up?
One of the pioneers was the AMAKS Park Hotel. Currently, other large facilities are actively connected to the system.:
* AZIMUT Hotel Tambov;
* Derzhavinskaya Hotel and Restaurant Complex;
* Sanatorium "Lesnaya Zhemchuzhina";
* Sanatorium "Energetik";
* The Serebryany Bor Social Rehabilitation Center.
According to the regional Ministry of Tourism, the implementation is taking place in a test mode to ensure a smooth transition and debug technical processes before the mandatory launch in the fall.
